Job Description: Financial Investigator Support
The contractor shall support processes and procedures related to financial investigations, including the introduction of tools and techniques for analyzing financial information.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing forfeiture aspects of ongoing investigations.
- Analyzing financial records obtained through databases, subpoenas, and warrants, including bank statements, checks, letters of credit, CTRs, and loan applications to identify hidden assets and false statements.
- Assisting in determining the amount to seek for forfeiture and tracing assets during investigations.
- Repatriating assets subject to forfeiture.
- Identifying individuals, entities, and related assets involved in deposits and property holdings.
- Maintaining detailed case documentation and database files for financial research.
- Researching and analyzing information from various investigative systems such as Choice Point, Autotrack, TECS, FINCEN, and others to support forfeiture cases, including ownership interests, source of criminal proceeds, and documentation of targeted property.
The contractor shall also:
- Assist in ingestion, processing, and analysis of datasets, collaborating with government data scientists and engineers to derive investigative insights.
- Parse dialed number strings to identify forfeitable property.
- Conduct detailed examinations of information from investigations and alternative sources to analyze personal and business assets.
- Develop probable cause for seizure warrants, restraining orders, and forfeiture actions.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Providing investigative support with planning to mitigate risks during seizures, considering community impacts.
- Preparing documents and cataloging case exhibits related to property ownership.
- Researching and documenting potential substitute assets.
- Identifying witnesses and subjects, and assisting during interviews and court proceedings.
- Conducting link analyses to determine relationships between subjects and assets, utilizing financial analysis and surveillance techniques.
- Providing courtroom testimony and depositions regarding investigative findings and asset identification.
