The City of Charlotte is seeking an Accountant Senior in the Finance Department. The role supports COSO internal control and ERM standards, ensuring accuracy and compliance across citywide financial systems and processes.

Responsibilities include data integrity, process reviews, policy support, and continuous improvement of internal controls. Requires BA/BS in finance or accounting and at least five years of financial experience.

Formación

• BA/BS in finance, accounting or related field
• 5+ years financial and/or accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of COSO Internal Control and ERM frameworks
• MS Visio, Project, Excel, Word proficiency

Responsabilidades

• Ensures the integrity of the City’s financial data utilizing COSO internal control concepts.
• Serves as a resource to City departments to ensure adherence to internal control standards and policies.
• Oversees and monitors citywide departmental staff performing assigned financial functions.
• Conducts data analysis, process reviews and transaction audits for accuracy and compliance.
• Participates in policy development to address compliance gaps and improve controls.
• Assesses efficiency of business processes and recommends COSO-compliant improvements.
• Supports design of monitoring strategies to ensure quality of performance over time.
