Job summary

Remitly in Seattle seeks a senior intel investigator to defend against financial crime like human trafficking and sanctions evasion. You will lead end-to-end cases, develop typologies, and steer detection in collaboration with global operations teams.

You'll conduct proactive investigations using SQL and OSINT, synthesize data with law enforcement input, and communicate findings clearly to senior stakeholders. This role requires discretion and cross-border payments exposure.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in financial crime investigations or intelligence.
• Experience with high risk typologies and red flags.
• Ability to build a case from ambiguous starting facts.
• Hands-on data analysis using SQL.
• Experience guiding improvements in investigators' work without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Carry complex, high severity cases end to end and escalate as needed.
• Develop detection logic from typologies and propagate to Transactions Monitoring.
• Oversee detection performance in production with global operations.
• Provide subject matter direction to investigators on high risk typology matters.
• Engage with law enforcement and financial intelligence units when required.
