Job summary

Gila River Development is seeking a Financial Controller to oversee the accounting activities and staff, ensuring compliance with all applicable accounting and financial standards. The role includes managing day-to-day operations, budgeting, forecasting, and coordination with auditors.

The Financial Controller will work closely with management to provide financial insight, develop internal controls, and support strategic decision-making. Local travel and flexible hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles.
• Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for client meetings and events.
• Valid AZ driver's license with a 39-month MVR report.
• Obtain a Tribal operator driving permit at hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities for financial stability.
• Coordinate with auditors for annual audit and address recommendations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
