Job summary

Universal Business Team in Wickford is seeking a Financial Controller to own the finance function across three entities, including manufacturing, projects and compliance services. You will lead month-end, reporting, stock, costing and commercial analysis while managing a small remote/offshore team.

You’ll partner with the MD and SLT, drive process improvements, and shape financial strategy with cross‑functional partners. A senior qualified accountant with SME experience is required.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with SME finance experience.
• Strong manufacturing finance, stock, standard costing and margin analysis.
• Experience with remote/offshore finance teams.
• Multi-currency accounting and FX experience.
• Ability to challenge senior stakeholders and drive change.

Responsibilities

• Own financial control, management accounts, budgeting and forecasting across three entities.
• Lead year-end and statutory reporting including external audit.
• Manage balance sheet, cash flow, treasury and banking.
• Oversee stock valuation, margin analysis and costing.
• Partner with Procurement and Operations to improve stock and profitability.
• Produce board reporting and financial analysis.
• Develop and manage a small offshore finance team.
