Job summary

The College of Western Idaho is seeking an Associate Controller/Executive Director of Financial Operations to lead the Business Office, oversee accounting, financial reporting, and audits, and partner with the AVP Finance to maintain strong controls and compliant financial systems.

This senior role requires strategic oversight, staff supervision, and a proven track record in governmental or fund accounting, with a commitment to accuracy, transparency, and institutional mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required.
• Five years of governmental or fund accounting experience is required.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, GASB, FASB and federal financial compliance is required.
• Experience with complex reconciliations, financial analysis, and audit support is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for the College's accounting and finance functions.
• Support AVP, Finance and Controller in managing financial operations and strategic initiatives.
• Supervise Accounting Manager, Accounts Payable & Payroll Manager, and Bursar.
• Assist with preparation and coordination of the College’s external audit and annual financial statements.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures.
