Three Pillars Recruiting is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller in New York to lead accounting operations and strengthen financial reporting across the company and its operating entities.

The role owns the close process, maintains accurate records, and builds strong controls in a growing, multi-entity environment. You will partner with executive leadership and external advisors to ensure reliable, scalable financial operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including close ownership and reporting.
• Experience as a Controller or in similar senior accounting roles.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience managing intercompany transactions across multiple entities.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with internal teams and external providers.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP systems.
• Clear communication, judgement, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for holding and operating entities.
• Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, journal entries, and schedules.
• Maintain general ledgers and consistent accounting policies per U.S. GAAP.
• Oversee intercompany transactions, consolidations, and revenue recognition.
• Deliver timely reporting and explain variances to leadership.
• Establish internal controls and documentation standards.
