Job summary

Destination Sport is seeking a senior Financial Controller in Atlanta to take ownership of financial accounting, reporting, controls and compliance for a growing organization. This hands-on, technically strong accounting professional will manage month-end close, general ledger integrity and audit coordination while partnering with operations to drive accuracy and efficiency.

The role offers influence over financial governance across a multi-entity business with US GAAP reporting and ERP

Qualifications

• Significant progressive experience in accounting and financial control.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience coordinating external audits and liaising with auditors.
• Proven ability to improve close processes and reporting quality.
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP/financial system proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly and annual close, ensuring financial results are accurate, complete and delivered on time.
• Lead preparation of financial statements and management reports in accordance with US GAAP.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, consolidation processes and supporting financial records.
• Establish and maintain effective accounting policies, internal controls and financial governance.
• Act as the primary finance contact for external auditors, coordinating the annual audit and other assurance activity.
• Oversee key accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, cash application, payroll accounting and fixed assets.
• Review complex or judgemental accounting matters, ensuring appropriate treatment and supporting documentation.
• Improve close timetables, reconciliations, reporting routines and control processes through standardisation and automation.
• Support cash flow reporting, working capital management, budgeting and forecasting through accurate financial and operational data.
• Support finance system improvements, ERP optimisation and wider business change initiatives.
