Job summary

The Center for Public Partnerships & Research seeks a Financial Analyst Senior to support the university's annual budget process, administer Oracle PBCS, train schools and departments, and develop analyses and dashboards to inform financial decisions.

This role requires strong proficiency with university financial systems, the ability to create custom analyses and queries, sound judgment, and the capacity to manage cyclical workload while ensuring timely, accurate budget planning and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, information technology, economics, math, or related field with 5 years of related experience OR High School diploma and 9 years of related experience.
• Five (5) years of experience with KU financial systems or other similar systems.
• 2 years' experience with MS Office Suite products, key skills in Excel (VLOOKUPs and pivots).
• Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills, as demonstrated by application materials and work history.

Responsibilities

• 35%: Oracle administrator for Oracle PBCS budget system; extract, analyze, and present data from budget, accounting, HR, and student records systems.
• 35%: Budget preparation, reporting, and analysis; organize financial data for budget requests and appeals to the Board of Regents and legislature.
• 10%: Budget forecasting and operational support; develop procedures, prepare periodic budget forecasts and reports.
• 10%: Cost center maintenance; manage cost center maintenance requests and updates.
• 5%: Policy, procedure, and fund-transfer support; assist with budgeting, accounting, and management issues.
• 5%: Training and communication; provide guidance and training on budget systems and map business processes.
