Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Finance professional to join the finance team, reporting to the Director of Finance. The role focuses on preparing, analyzing, and presenting financial information to support operational and strategic decision making across the organization.

Key responsibilities include close processes, journal entries, compliance disclosures, investment and debt reporting, and community benefit reporting.

Qualifications

• Education: BS in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 3–5 years in a related finance role.
• Preferred: Master's degree and CPA licensure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review investment and debt journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review Compliance disclosures for internal/external reporting deadlines.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Assess technical accounting standards and apply to reporting.
• Assist with investment audit preparation.
• Prepare investment and debt reporting analysis for stakeholders.
• Compile quarterly and annual community benefit reports.
• Lead organizational initiatives and special projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

This position reports to the Director of Finance and is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and presenting financial information to support operational and strategic decision making. This position is responsible for working across a variety of disciplines with the Finance department and will assist with monthly close process, investment and debt accounting, community benefit reporting, completion of annual audit schedules and various financial analyses.

This position will include the following responsibilities:

• Preparation and review of investment and debt journal entries and account reconciliations
• Preparation and review of Compliance disclosures to meet internal and external reporting deadlines
• Participate in the Company's monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure financial information is recorded completely and accurately
• Assess technical accounting standards and apply to reporting results and disclosures
• Assist with preparation for and support the Company's investment audit
• Prepare and communicate investment and debt reporting analysis to various stakeholders
• Compile and prepare quarterly and annual reports for community benefit reporting
• Assist with and lead organizational initiatives and special projects
• Other duties as assigned

Position Details:

Qualifications:

Education: BS Degree in Finance or Accounting (or similar) or equivalent experience

Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years.

• Demonstrated knowledge with financial applications and processes
• Demonstrated ability to interact with leadership teams
• Demonstrated knowledge of financial systems
• Knowledgeable of underlying process flows
• Demonstrates developed analytical skills including identification of issues/opportunities and potential resolution

• Demonstrates appropriate prioritization, efficiency, and problem solving
• Strong Microsoft Office skills and position specific applications

Preferred Education: Masters Degree
