Job summary

Jobtailor in Madison, WI is seeking a seasoned Financial Analyst to analyze past and forecast future business performance, and to translate findings for clients on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. You will support client strategies with insightful financial analysis and clear storytelling.

Responsibilities include building complex financial models (NPV, IRR, DCF), maintaining client reports, and collaborating with Finance, Accounting and project teams to drive informed decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Financial discipline or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years’ experience in a finance or accounting related position.
• Proficient with Financial Reporting tools.
• Business Objects, SAP–BPC and PeopleSoft experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with customers of varying backgrounds and business acumen.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Ability to self-prioritize workload and manage and communicate resource conflicts.
• Knowledge of the financial services industry and product lines.
• General knowledge of finance/accounting principles.
• Ability to work in a team setting, directly and indirectly.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret past and future business performance.
• Provide financial analysis and explain results to clients monthly, quarterly and annually.
• Provide financial support for clients’ business strategies.
• Develop, maintain, analyze and discuss financial reports with clients.
• Lead forecasting of financial and operational results for planning, budgeting and decision-making.
• Ensure appropriate resource allocations and accounting.
• Develop and interpret complex financial models using concepts such as NPV, IRR and DCF.
• Build relationships with assigned clients and provide requested financial support.
• Maintain an in-depth understanding of financial systems and processes for supported business areas.
• Improve processes related to assigned responsibilities.
• Guide analysts and project teams and collaborate with Finance, Accounting and customers.
• Communicate findings and impacts effectively to customers and management, including VP-level customers.
