Job summary

KONG Company in Golden, Colorado is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling that informs strategic decisions. You will analyze performance, track variances, and produce actionable insights for executive leadership.

Collaborating with the VP of Finance and department heads, you will support month-end close, develop robust dashboards, and mentor junior analysts while delivering accurate financial projections and strategic analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis, corporate finance, corporate accounting, or related discipline.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with FP software (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, Hyperion, or similar).
• Strong understanding of GAAP and corporate finance fundamentals.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to synthesize large datasets into actionable insights.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to build relationships with internal partners, vendors, suppliers, and customers; customer service orientation.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and process- and metrics-driven.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual budgets, monthly/quarterly forecasts, and long-range plans with VP of Finance and department leaders.
• Track expenditures vs budget and reconcile variances in GL accounts.
• Analyze monthly results and communicate variance drivers to leadership.
• Conduct financial research and identify emerging trends.
• Build and maintain monthly cash flow reporting and a 12-month forecast.
• Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives and new business opportunities.
• Provide customized analyses for operational projects and business plans.
• Support budget/forecast analysis, ROI analysis, and supply chain/inventory analysis.
• Identify cost-savings opportunities and provide insights on product performance.
• Partner with business unit leaders to inform operational decisions.
• Develop dashboards and KPIs to improve visibility into performance.
• Support month-end/quarter-end close and prepare executive materials.
• Mentor junior analysts and ensure accuracy of their work.
