Job summary

Berkley Management Protection is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to focus on short- and long-term financial results by building and monitoring KPIs, analyzing performance, and supporting departmental strategies. You will develop complex models and dashboards to forecast scenarios and guide operational decisions.

The role requires close collaboration across business units, month-end close diligence, and data-driven insights to improve efficiency and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or higher is required.
• Strong ability to interpret data trends and deliver actionable insights.
• Proficiency with Excel and financial reporting systems like Essbase/Hyperion.

Responsibilities

The Senior Financial Analyst will focus on both short- and long-term financial results by building and monitoring relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing financial performance, and supporting the execution of departmental strategies and initiatives.

• Analyze and compare monthly and quarterly results, metrics, and key performance indicators against plan and other benchmarks.
• Execute the department’s strategies and key initiatives through special projects as assigned.
• Utilize data-driven insights to uncover behavioral patterns within agency operations and enhance performance across key metrics.
• Collaborate throughout the organization to improve overall efficiencies.
• Perform month-end close activities and related entries and reconciliations within established deadlines.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to deadlines throughout the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Perform detailed analysis of internal financial data, including profit and loss statements, financial reports, revenues, direct expenses, and commissions.
• Develop and maintain complex financial models and dashboards to support forecasting, scenario planning, and strategic initiatives.
• Partner with business units to provide financial guidance and support for operational and strategic decisions.
• Evaluate external and internal intelligence to provide actionable insight into the current market landscape.
• Maintain Power BI reports for accuracy, quality, and relevance.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and financial reporting systems such as Essbase, Hyperion, and Vena.

Education Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting or finance, or comparable advanced professional education.
