Job description

A great UHY client is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their team in Warren, Michigan. The ideal candidate will have a CPA with at least 2 years of experience, a go‑getter personality with the want to advance and be proficient in Microsoft Excel.

The Senior Financial Analyst role is a onsite position. This is a client direct hire position.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance internal control frameworks; design and execute audit procedures to support compliance requirements.
  • Partner with functional leaders to implement and monitor adherence to finance and accounting policies; proactively identify and mitigate control risks.
  • Manage accounts receivable and customer financing processes, serving as a key backup for receivables leadership.
  • Assist with monthly and annual close activities, identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Support financial planning and analysis activities, including preparation and review of financial statements and management reports.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and support tax and regulatory filings by providing required documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate recording and classification of financial transactions.
  • Prepare recurring and ad‑hoc reports, including sales analyses and internal audit documentation.
  • Identify and support initiatives to improve processes through automation and workflow optimization.
  • Perform additional projects and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 2–3+ years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or financial operations.
  • Active CPA certification with strong knowledge of accounting standards and internal control frameworks.
  • Experience working with enterprise financial systems or accounting software.
  • Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet and data analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail, with the ability to understand broader business impacts.
  • Self‑motivated, organized, and results‑driven with a proactive, initiative‑taking mindset.
