Job summary

Express Employment Professionals Northwest San Antonio is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to partner with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams. The role combines FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, manufacturing cost analysis, financial modeling, and BI to drive profitability and performance.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in manufacturing/CPG environments, strong Excel and Power BI skills, and experience with SAP ERP.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive FP&A, cost accounting, or financial analysis experience.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills with complex formulas and data analysis.
  • Experience with ERP systems; SAP experience preferred.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and translate into business recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Support development and consolidation of annual operating budgets and long-range plans.
  • Prepare forecasts and analyze budget-to-actual performance.
  • Identify key business drivers, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support decisions.
  • Prepare financial reports, management presentations, and executive analyses.
  • Analyze manufacturing performance: labor, materials, overhead, inventory, plant efficiency, yields.
  • Investigate variances and identify profitability improvements; partner with operations on cost reduction.
  • Support standard cost development, maintenance, and analysis; evaluate logistics and supply chain from a financial view.
  • Develop KPIs, dashboards, and automated reporting; use ERP and reporting systems for insights.
  • Translate large datasets into actionable leadership recommendations.

Position Overview

An established manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to serve as a strategic business partner across Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams.

This position combines financial planning & analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, manufacturing cost analysis, financial modeling, and business intelligence to help leadership improve profitability and operational performance.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills along with experience in a manufacturing, CPG, food production, or supply-chain-intensive environment and can translate complex financial and operational data into actionable business recommendations.

What You'll Do:
  • Support development and consolidation of annual operating budgets and long-range financial plans.
  • Prepare forecasts and analyze budget-to-actual performance.
  • Identify key business drivers, financial risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support business decisions.
  • Prepare financial reports, management presentations, and executive-level analyses.
Manufacturing & Operational Finance
  • Analyze manufacturing performance, including labor, materials, overhead, inventory, plant efficiency, and production yields.
  • Investigate manufacturing variances and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Partner with operational leaders on cost-reduction and process-improvement initiatives.
  • Support standard cost development, maintenance, and cost analysis.
  • Evaluate logistics, warehousing, and supply chain initiatives from a financial perspective.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs, dashboards, and automated reporting solutions.
  • Use ERP and reporting systems to provide actionable financial and operational insights.
  • Analyze large datasets and translate findings into clear recommendations for leadership.
  • Support reporting standardization and continuous improvement initiatives.
Cross-Functional Business Partnership
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial leadership.
  • Support capital investment decisions and other strategic initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Support internal and external audit activities and financial systems initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, cost accounting, operational finance, or a related financial analysis role
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and ideally Power Query
  • Experience working with ERP systems; SAP experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and performance management
  • Ability to analyze complex data and communicate clear business recommendations
  • Strong communication, presentation, and business partnering skills
Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas is particularly valuable:

  • Manufacturing finance
  • Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG)
  • Food manufacturing
  • Supply chain finance
  • Cost accounting
  • Multi-site operations
  • SAP
  • Power BI or other business intelligence/data visualization tools

CPA, CMA, MBA, or another relevant professional credential is a plus but not required.
