Job summary

Storm Search is seeking a Senior Cost Analyst for our manufacturing facility in Monroe, NC. This hands-on finance role is the primary resource for the site, partnering with plant leadership, operations, production, and maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have cost accounting experience in manufacturing, strong skills in absorption and variance analysis, month-end close, and inventory accounting, with ERP experience (Oracle or SAP) preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of absorption and variance analysis.
• Experience with inventory accounting and/or inventory transactions.
• Experience supporting month-end close and journal entries.
• Experience working with an ERP system in a manufacturing environment; Oracle or SAP experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and serve as a trusted financial partner to operations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary finance and cost accounting resource for the facility.
• Perform plant cost analysis, including absorption, labor, volume, spend, and overhead variances.
• Support and drive month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, reporting, and financial analysis.
• Monitor inventory transactions and reconcile inventory-related variances.
• Partner with plant and operations leadership to identify cost drivers and opportunities for improvement.
• Support forecasting, annual budgeting, and fixed and variable cost planning.
• Review labor and overhead rates for accuracy and improvement opportunities.
• Generate monthly financial reports and provide meaningful analysis to site and business leadership.
• Track and analyze cost-saving initiatives in partnership with operations.
• Calculate ROI and financial impacts for capital projects and major maintenance expenditures.
• Support cycle counts and lead the site's annual physical inventory process.
• Help improve financial processes, reporting, and controls across the operation.
