Senior Financial Reporting Analyst | Houston, TX (Hybrid)
Are you a finance professional who wants to do more than report the numbers?
We’re looking for a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst who can turn financial and operational data into insights that help leaders make better business decisions.
Reporting to the Controller, this role will partner closely with the CFO, Director of Pricing & Product Analysis, and leaders across the organization. You’ll own budgeting and forecasting, develop financial models, analyze margins and pricing, support strategic initiatives, and help leadership understand not just what happened, but why it happened and what to do next.
What You’ll Own
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Own the annual budget process and maintain rolling forecasts for revenue, gross profit, operating expenses, and cash.
- Business Analysis: Develop analyses that uncover drivers, explain performance, identify risks, and inform decisions.
- Pricing & Profitability: Partner with Pricing & Product Analysis on pricing strategy, margin performance, client/product mix, and profitability.
- Financial Modeling: Build driver-based models, three-statement models, and scenario/sensitivity analyses.
- Executive Reporting: Translate complex financial information into concise narratives and recommendations for executive and board-level audiences.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly and quarterly financial packages, lender reporting, covenant calculations, and related analyses.
- Strategic Projects: Support M&A, financing, ESOP, capital structure, and other corporate finance initiatives.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve reporting, forecasting, budgeting, systems, and controls—and help implement them.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 4–7+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, public accounting, investment banking, consulting, or a similar finance role.
- Experience owning a budget or forecasting process—not simply contributing to one.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Strong understanding of three-statement modeling, driver-based forecasting, and scenario analysis.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to turn financial detail into a compelling business story.
- Intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Within your first year, you’ll be expected to:
- Take ownership of the budget and forecasting cycles.
- Improve forecasting accuracy and shorten reporting/forecasting timelines.
- Deliver analysis that directly influences leadership decisions.
- Reduce manual and inefficient processes.
- Strengthen the quality and usefulness of executive financial reporting.
- Become a trusted analytical partner to Finance and business leadership.
The Opportunity
If you’re energized by questions like “Why did this happen?” “What happens next?” and “What should we do about it?”, this could be a great opportunity to expand your impact beyond traditional financial reporting.
