Qualifications

• 10+ years in FP&A or finance operations, ideally in a large engineering organization.
• Hands-on Python and SQL; builds pipelines and reporting without engineering support.
• Vendor and contingent workforce spend, including SOW, PO, conversion, and consolidation.
• Track record of redesigning processes, automating manual work, and changing manager behavior.
• Turns ambiguous data into a single source of truth and executive-ready insight.
• Has transitioned a function to a more junior owner.
• Clear communicator with executives; works independently.

Responsibilities

• Baseline budget, forecast, headcount, and vendor and contractor spend; ensure investment goes to key projects, with simple tracking, review, and approval.
• Lead contractor conversion and vendor consolidation efforts, from leadership authorization through execution.
• Build an automated sole source of truth for spend with a continuous review cadence.
• Deliver decision-grade insight on project effort data and OpEx spend.
• Simplify PR and budgeting processes to cut time and documentation load.
• Shift spend accountability (SOW, procurement, documentation) to engineering managers, with aligned incentives and visibility.
• Document and hand off to an internal owner who can run it without you.
