Job summary

Midwest Block & Brick, a Quikrete Company, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to lead financial planning for sales and operations across up to 20 plant sites.

This role partners with the VP of Operations, Sales, and business leaders to drive performance, develop reports and KPI dashboards, and provide insightful analyses.

You will analyze profitability, costs, pricing, and inventory, travel to plants as needed, and support profitability initiatives with data-driven recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• 5+ years of financial analysis or accounting in a multi-site organization.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
• Ability to analyze large data sets for reporting and decision-making.
• Excellent cross-level collaboration and communication skills.
• Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
• Travel up to 15-20%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and analyze financial management reports and KPIs for all levels.
• Perform detailed profitability and cost analysis across divisions and units.
• Communicate performance related to profitability, productivity, and pricing.
• Analyze material costs, inventory accuracy, aging, and BOM accuracy.
• Provide financial statement analysis training for leaders and plant managers.
• Analyze plant profitability focusing on sales mix, material, labor, delivery, and SG&A.
• Travel to plants to review processes and write executive summaries.
• Use data analytics on large datasets to inform management decisions.
• Support ad hoc analyses and profitability improvement initiatives.

About the role:

• Partner with the Masonry VP of Operations, Sales, and Operations leaders as a key member of the team driving business results for up to 20 plant sites.
• Develop, maintain, and analyze financial management reports, including key performance indicators for all levels of the organization including senior leaders.
• Perform detailed analysis of division, product category, and business unit performance, including sales, orders, costing, pricing, and profitability.
• Proactively analyze and communicate performance related to profitability, productivity, costing, and pricing.
• Perform detailed analysis of material costs, inventory accuracy, inventory aging and bill of material accuracy.
• Provide financial statement analysis training for business leaders and plant managers.
• Perform plant profitability analysis, focusing on sales mix, material, labor, delivery, and selling & administrative.
• Travel to plants as needed to review plant processes, with a focus on inventory management and complete a written executive summary.
• Use data analytics to analyze large data sets and provide insights to assist management with decision-making.
• Perform ad hoc analysis, assist with special projects, and provide financial support for specific profitability improvement initiatives as required.

Qualifications:

• Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Preferred: CPA or CMA Certification
• 5+ years of financial analysis or accounting experience in a multi-site organization, preferably in manufacturing or construction.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards.
• Ability to analyze and manipulate large data sets for reporting and decision-making.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across all levels of an organization.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and oral & written communication skills.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to travel up to 15 to 20%
