Job summary

Harper College is seeking a Financial Aid Specialist to advise students, parents, faculty and staff on financial aid processes, FAFSA completion, and deadlines, while ensuring compliance with federal, state and institutional requirements.

You will collaborate with advising, the Business Office and OSFA teams to streamline procedures, monitor cases in Ellucian Banner, and deliver timely information via in-person meetings, phone, chat and email.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree required.
• Two years of financial aid experience at a higher education institution with knowledge of Title IV programs and regulations.
• Experience with Ellucian Banner system or related financial aid technology is a plus.
• Excellent customer service and problem solving skills with demonstrated professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Advises students and parents about financial aid, deadlines, and SAP appeals.
• Reviews and renders decisions in SAP appeals and aids in FAFSA completion.
• Drives cross-department trainings to holistically serve students and maintain compliance.
• Monitors and quality-checks student cases to ensure timely responses and accurate information.
