Job description

To participate in a remote work arrangement, employees must reside in the United States. No remote work arrangement will be considered for working from outside the United States.

The Senior Financial Aid Specialist - Compliance supports the Financial Aid function at Herzing University with policy, procedure, technology, and process optimization needs. This role requires high attention to detail and technical proficiency. The Senior Specialist also serves on the Financial Aid Compliance Team within the Home Office division of Financial Aid.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ Years of Title IV administration experience preferred; minimum 1 year required.
  • Additional preferred experience includes:
    • Experience with administration of state and external (non-federal) funding sources.
    • Experience with automated systems and processes.
    • Experience with policy, procedure, and data system development using automation.
    • Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional regulations related to financial aid eligibility and processing.

Pay: Compensation is based on qualifications, experience, and circumstances. The hourly pay range is $27.80 to $37.61. Benefits include tuition waiver and reimbursement, health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform internal audits of funding programs and collaborate on staff training.
  • Analyze processes and recommend improvements using technology and reporting.
  • Support system enhancements through UAT, including testing and documentation.
  • Partner with campus leadership on budget utilization and staffing.
  • Maintain FWS Tracker and resolve issues promptly.
  • Configure Financial Aid software for award year setup and automation.
  • Support Financial Aid staff with troubleshooting and policy review.
