Job description

To participate in a remote work arrangement, employees must reside in the United States. No remote work arrangement will be considered for working from outside the United States.

The Senior Financial Aid Specialist - Compliance supports the Financial Aid function at Herzing University with policy, procedure, technology, and process optimization needs. This role requires high attention to detail and technical proficiency. The Senior Specialist serves on the Financial Aid Compliance Team within the Home Office division of Financial Aid.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred. High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ Years of Title IV administration experience preferred. Minimum 1 year of experience required.
  • Additional preferred experience includes:
    • Experience with administration of state and external (non-federal) funding sources highly preferred.
    • Experience with automated systems and processes.
    • Experience with policy, procedure, and data system development using automation.
    • Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional regulations related to financial aid eligibility and processing.

Pay: Compensation is determined based on qualifications, experience, and circumstances. The hourly pay range is $27.80 to $37.61. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including tuition waiver and reimbursement, health insurance, paid time off, and a retirement plan.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular internal audits of various funding programs and collaborate on staff training.
  • Analyze Financial Aid processes and recommend improvements leveraging technology and reporting.
  • Support system enhancements through UAT, including designing test plans and executing end-user testing.
  • Partner with campus leadership on budget utilization, staffing, and resource management.
  • Maintain the FWS Tracker and resolve documented issues promptly.
  • Configure Financial Aid software for award year, fund, and document setup.
  • Support Financial Aid staff by troubleshooting system issues and reviewing student files.
