The role analyzes variances, prepares regulatory and internal reports, collaborates with operations and FP&A, leads initiatives, and supports auditors while upholding policies and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• Two to five years of related accounting experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading projects and advising other accountants.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Proven verbal and written communication skills with stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of statutory and GAAP accounting rules.
• Proficiency with Excel and standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Prepares complex general ledger accounting entries for life insurance subsidiaries and non-life entities on statutory and GAAP bases.
• Executes variance analysis of financial results for business units and leadership.
• Partners with peers to present results to leadership and support budget analysis and strategic initiatives.
• Prepares regulatory, external and internal reporting for management, boards, regulators and rating agencies.
• Leads department initiatives and coordinates with external stakeholders (e.g., auditors).
• Performs complex account reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
• Identifies accounting issues and researches/escalates them as needed.
• Maintains technical accounting memos and implements process improvements.
• Adheres to policies and standards and maintains quality.
