Job summary

Albemarle is seeking a Senior Corporate Finance & SOX Compliance Analyst in Charlotte. This hybrid role supports enterprise‑wide AI initiatives, SOX controls, SEC reporting deadlines, and internal/external audits while delivering standard financial close deliverables.

The position requires a BS in Accounting or Finance, at least 2 years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and excellent communication. SAP/BPC experience and CPA are pluses. Competitive compensation and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• BS in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and superior intellect.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented, deadline-oriented environment.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel.
• Financial analysis and critical thinking skills, oral and written communication, and presentation ability.
• Team player with flexibility to shift priorities.
• SAP & BPC experience (nice to have).
• 2+ years of public accounting experience (nice to have).
• CPA (nice to have).
• Interest in AI and automation (nice to have).

Responsibilities

• Bring creativity and curiosity to the team.
• Utilize strong accounting knowledge and teamwork skills.
• Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and rollforwards.
• Prepare fluctuation analyses to explain changes in account balances.
• Research and consider accounting for special projects and transactions.
• Team with and support internal and external audit teams.
• Support SOX compliance activities including segregation of duty analyses, SOC reporting review management, and SAP upgrade SOX assessment management.
• Partner with control owners to assess control design, identify gaps, and drive timely resolution of SOX issues.
• Use creativity to problem‑solve and suggest improvement opportunities.
• Leverage artificial intelligence and recommend expansions of AI usage.
• Manage the governance framework for AI impacting SOX.
