Job summary

Boeing at Kennedy Space Center, Florida seeks a Senior Finance Manager for Space Launch Systems to lead a team focused on Earned Value Management and program financial performance. You will partner with NASA, IPT leaders and program managers to align budgets, forecasts and execution.

Qualifications

The Boeing Defense and Space (BDS) Space Launch System (SLS) Financial Operations team is seeking a Senior Finance Manager - Space Launch Systems. This opportunity is located in Kennedy Space Center, Florida to join our team working on the largest and most powerful rocket ever produced. This critical leadership role will partner closely with The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Program Managers, Integrated Product Team (IPT) leaders, and Executive leadership to ensure strict compliance with Earned Value Management (EVM) principles, align strategic financial plans with business execution, and maximize program financial performance. The position requires exceptional skills in financial oversight, risk management, stakeholder collaboration, and driving successful delivery from cost, schedule, and technical perspectives.

Position Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of financial analysts dedicated to supporting program and contract activities with a focus on EVM compliance and business execution excellence
• Coordinate and integrate the overall program financial activity, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and full Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting requirements
• Partner with program managers and IPT leadership to drive financial strategy that maximizes program execution, optimizes cost management, and enhances profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction
• Collaborate with technical and functional leaders to establish realistic program budget baselines, develop and implement full EVM performance measurement, analyze Estimate at Completion (EAC), and produce accurate financial forecasts
• Provide expert support to proposal estimating and contracting activities to reinforce financial rigor and EVM standards in new business pursuits and contract modifications
• Proactively engage with external customers (including NASA) and suppliers to deliver transparent, compliant cost performance reporting and maintain strong, collaborative relationships
• Lead and contribute to special assignments, affordability initiatives, conducting financial analyses and briefing executive leadership on key program financial status and risks to influence decision-making
• Partner with cross-functional Finance teams to ensure comprehensive support for financial reporting, including cash flow, revenue recognition, earnings, budgeting, and forecasting
• Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements related to program financials and EVM
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement in financial processes, EVM compliance, and customer engagement to sustain high performance and fiscal accountability

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• 5+ years of experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
• 5+ years of experience with Estimates at Completion (EAC)
• 5+ years of experience in leadership either formally or informally leading teams in a cross-functional environment
• Experience communicating and collaborating directly with internal or external customers, peers, other employees, and all levels of leadership
• Experience with government contracting
• Experience with Estimates at Completion, Data Analysis, and/or Budgeting/Cost Performance Reporting
• Willing and able to travel domestically 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Experience working with NASA programs
• Willing and able to obtain a NASA clearance prior to starting
• Willing to work 5 days a week onsite at the listed location
• Proven ability to handle competing priorities while providing level-headed decision making during unexpected events

Summary pay range: $141,100 - $190,900
