Job summary

Smurfit WestRock, a leading sustainable packaging company, is seeking a Sr. Finance Manager for its Stevenson, Alabama mill.

You will guide financial performance, lead FP&A, ensure SOX compliance, and partner with site leadership to drive profitability and strategic growth. You will manage monthly closes, budgeting and forecasting, cost accounting, and balance sheet integrity while developing a high-performing team and coordinating with corporate reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting (MBA, CPA or CMA preferred).
• 8+ years of experience in finance or accounting.
• Manufacturing/process experience preferred.
• Controller-type capacity preferred.
• Self-starter with strong technical and financial experience.
• Ability to lead a team and manage ad hoc requests.
• Robust problem-solving and analytical thinking.
• Track record of driving EBITDA growth, margin expansion and cash flow.
• Collaborative across functions with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mill finance operations including accounting, reporting and budgeting.
• Lead FP&A, forecasting, and financial planning with operational input.
• Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and internal control effectiveness.
• Develop mill-level reporting tied to operational metrics and profitability.
• Manage monthly close, cost accounting, inventory costing and journal entries.
• Partner with mill leadership to drive profitability and performance improvements.
• Lead and develop the finance team; support division and corporate reporting.
• Drive capital project analysis and benefits realization.
