Senior Finance Director - School of Continuing Studies

Requirements

The School of Continuing Studies (SCS) aims to foster a collaborative, innovative, and student-first culture rooted in Georgetown’s Jesuit values. We seek a Senior Finance Director to serve as the chief financial officer and senior business manager for SCS, overseeing financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation for over 13 divisions, 20+ degree programs, 160+ staff and faculty, and 1,000+ adjunct faculty. Responsibilities include:

• Strategic financial and administrative partnership with SCS leadership
• Managing departmental budgets, information systems, and HR financial activities
• Supporting organizational development and compliance
• Building relationships with university offices and departments

Work Interactions

The Senior Finance Director reports directly to the Dean of SCS and manages two positions: the Executive Director of SCS Financial Operations and the Director of Business Administration. The role involves collaboration with the Office of the Provost, Human Resources, Legal, and other university units.

Qualifications

• Master’s in Business or Accounting preferred; Bachelor’s plus extensive experience acceptable
• 10+ years in finance and administration, preferably in higher education
• Experience with complex budgets, financial tools, and modeling
• Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and familiarity with Cognos, Workday, Salesforce
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills

Work Mode

This position is Hybrid, requiring on-site presence 3 days a week, with support for Tropaia and Commencement activities in person.

Compensation

Salary range: $103,723 - $202,779, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
