Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Lead Accounting and Financial Operations: Serve as the subject matter expert on financial operations for clients. Manage Associates and lead the accounting and financial operations for a range of clients, effectively communicate with clients, ensure accurate and timely financial data and platform management, and adherence to all internal policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Client Bookkeeping: Supervise Associates and oversee client bookkeeping processes, including but not limited to bill payments, journal entries, account reconciliations, documentation of expenses, and processing payroll.
  • Budgeting and Cash-Flow Forecasting: Collaborate with client managers to develop and maintain working budgets, as well as provide guidance on cash-flow forecasting to help them advise clients to make informed financial decisions.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Lead processes to gather information and compile monthly and ad hoc reports and financial statements for clients including collecting, analyzing, and interpreting financial data and trends to provide valuable insights.
  • Audit and Tax Preparation: Lead the preparation for audits and tax filings for clients, execute audits and tax filings, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and financial transparency.
  • Direct Client Communication and Support: Use thoughtful, transparent communication and excellent process and project management to establish shared expectations, provide essential context, and demonstrate the value of strong accounting and finance operations in a way that deepens client relationships and trust.
  • Team Management: Set clear expectations and delegate tasks effectively for Associates. Provide ongoing guidance and mentorship to support growth.Uphold and champion organizational values and foster a values-driven workplace.
  • Special Projects: Undertake and lead special projects and tasks as requested by client manager, clients, and internal Salesberry Group leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Position

We’re looking to grow our team and hire a Senior Finance Associate. This role is an essential partner to our clients and will be responsible for delivering high-quality services and support. They will do this by applying their working knowledge of accounting and finance processes and by using thoughtful proactive communication to provide context, updates, and drive essential work to completion. The Senior Finance Associate will cultivate strong client consultant working relationships rooted in trust and will operate with a flexible mindset that allows Salesberry Group to meet the unique and evolving needs of our mission-driven clients.

The new Senior will also lead a team in managing financial operations for assigned clients, oversee the full-cycle of the accounting processes by leading associates to assist clients with their financial operations needs from budgeting, forecasting, detailed accounting, and other analysis, and lead on special projects as needed to effectively meet the financial and operational needs of clients.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in accounting
  • Non-Profit accounting experience, including 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and political entities
  • Extensive experience with QuickBooks Online including ProAdvisor Certification
  • Extensive experience in Microsoft Excel
  • Working proficiency and confident with Google Suite/Workspace, Asana, Keeper/Double, and Slack

The Location

Because Salesberry Group’s clients are located throughout the country, this position is remote and can work from anywhere in the continental US. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without need of visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Compensation and Benefits
  • This is a full time position with a salary of $80,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. Any starting salary must fall within that range. Other compensation includes a monthly home office stipend.
    • We are also looking to identify potential future temp capacity for this same position; if you are interested in that track, please share in the application.
  • Salesberry Group offers 3 weeks of accrued PTO, 13 paid holidays, and unlimited sick leave. Additional PTO policies include parental leave (12 weeks), bereavement, voting, and blood donation. Salesberry Group also often adds holiday extensions for summer holidays (3 or 4 day weekends), as client needs allow.
  • Salesberry Group provides medical, dental, and vision benefits for employees only. Employees can add dependents at their own cost.
  • A 401K plan is available for employees to make pre-tax contributions, with no employer contribution at this time.
