Job summary

Providence Portland Medical Center is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to manage CORE's budgets and grants, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting. You will lead financial systems improvements, train staff, and collaborate with project teams across pre- and post-award processes.

The role requires a strong background in grants management, accounting, and budgeting within a healthcare or research setting, with clear emphasis on regulatory adherence and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• 2 years' experience in BI, financial reporting, or operational reporting.
• 7 years' experience with grants management and/or accounting.
• 2 years' pre-award and/or post-award grants management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversees CORE's master department budget and project budgets, including development, expense management, and reporting.
• Develops budgets for grants and contracts, manages expenses, and provides budget analysis.
• May supervise or mentor others in these activities.
• Leads development of CORE's financial and accounting systems to support priorities and ensure compliance.
• Initiates and leads process improvements for financial systems (payroll, invoicing, cash management, procurement, PCards).
• Maintains knowledge of compliance requirements and interprets regulations to inform CORE policies.
• Provides training in finance systems and policies to staff.
• Writes budgets for research grants and ensures compliance with federal regs.
• Develops reports to funders and quarterly financial reports.
• Maintains relationships with external and strategic partners to facilitate finance work.
• Manages monthly, quarterly, and long-term FTE allocations to ensure proper funding.
• Collaborates with project teams in pre-award processes for internal approvals and sponsor requirements.
• Manages post-award administration including project setups, invoicing, budget monitoring, and forecasting.
• Develops reports to funders and quarterly reports for all projects and accounts.
