Job summary

RJN Group, a leading engineering and field services firm, seeks a Senior Finance & Accounting Analyst to support company-wide accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting. You will partner with the Director of Finance and CFO, delivering timely insights and driving improvements across the business.

The role emphasizes collaboration with project managers and stakeholders, ownership of recurring processes, and participation in ESOP activities within an employee-owned organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited institution.
• CPA or CPA-eligible status preferred; strong technical accounting foundation required.
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a professional services or engineering, project-based environment.
• Experience using computerized accounting systems; ability to learn new tools, reporting processes, and workflow improvements quickly.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close: journal entries, account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and monthly financial statements, built into a strong reporting package.
• Analyze monthly variances, spot trends, and provide solid recommendations to leadership.
• Be a go-to accounting partner for Project Managers: set up new projects, prepare client invoices, and analyze revenue, cost, and profitability.
• Contribute to ESOP process: valuation coordination, report preparation, participant communications, and payment processing.
• Maintain recurring processes: lease accounting, rent payments, sales/use tax filings, and select invoicing.
• Lead process improvement and special projects to enhance accounting and finance value.
