Job summary

GE Aerospace in Norwich, CT seeks an Inspector 4 for Final Inspection Sensors on 2nd shift. You will perform precision inspection using calipers, micrometers, and advanced testing equipment, maintain records in Oracle, and ensure conformance to GD&T and process specifications.

The role requires 5 years in manufacturing inspection, strong blueprint interpretation, and proficiency with electrical test methods.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5 years inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
• GD&T knowledge and blueprint interpretation required.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications.
• Ability to use hand tools and measuring devices.
• Experience with electrical test methods (ohm meter, surge test, hipot).
• Able to pass Visual Acuity Exam and obtain solder/braze certification as required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize manual or automated measurement and testing equipment to ensure quality of products.
• Identify and document non-conforming parts while using Oracle to maintain inspection records.
• Inspect all raw materials and purchased parts to determine conformance to design requirements.
• Use statistical process control and statistical quality control techniques as required.
• Perform job responsibilities according to internal process specifications and third-party requirements.
• Assist support functions in root cause analysis.
• Develop strong understanding of GD&T and advanced measurement principles.
• Blueprint interpretation, electrical inspection, mechanical inspection, and procedural knowledge assessment completion.
• Have advanced understanding of special processes such as brazing, soldering, welding, coating, etc. as required within the department.
• Use manual and automated measuring/testing equipment to ensure product quality.
• Perform complex testing (surge test, dielectric, hipot, helium leak check, ATP, hardness testing, etc.).
• Have advanced understanding of the operation of all inspection equipment within the department.
• Work with limited supervision.
• Perform manual setup, test, and troubleshooting including performance testing and trim grind.
• Multi-task and work within deadlines.
• Complete all labor tracking documentation in writing or electronically.
• Provide feedback to appropriate support functions.
• Communicate with team to ensure all team members are aware of new processes and/or issues.
