Job summary

Quantum is seeking a Senior Filesystem Engineer to join the StorNext engineering team in Centennial, Colorado. You will design, implement, debug, and maintain core StorNext filesystem components, including kernel-level work and large-scale storage management, collaborating with engineering, QA, support, and product teams.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in C/C++ filesystem development, strong Linux experience, scripting skills, and a track record delivering reliable software in complex

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional filesystems software development experience in C/C++.
• Strong scripting experience with Python, Perl, Bash, or similar.
• Proficiency with Git in a collaborative environment.
• Strong Linux development experience; Windows cross-platform is a plus.
• Ability to own complex technical problems and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Experience debugging with tracing, logging, profiling, and crash analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, enhance, and maintain StorNext Filesystem components, including the cvfs kernel module, FS manager, and utilities.
• Lead investigations, debugging, root-cause analysis, and resolution across the StorNext suite.
• Drive code reviews, design discussions, validation planning, and engineering decisions.
• Provide mentorship and establish engineering best practices for systems-level development.
