Job summary

Quantum is seeking a Senior Filesystem Engineer to join the StorNext team in Centennial, CO. You will design, enhance, debug, and maintain core StorNext filesystem components, including kernel-level modules and management utilities, while coordinating with engineering, QA, support, and product teams to deliver reliable storage solutions.

The ideal candidate has strong systems programming experience, excels at solving complex, performance-sensitive problems, and can mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional filesystems software development experience in C/C++.
• Scripting experience for automation and diagnostics (Python/Perl/Bash).
• Proficiency with Git or similar VCS in team environments.
• Strong Linux development experience; Windows cross-platform a plus.
• Ability to own complex problems and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Experience debugging complex systems using tracing, logging, profiling, or crash analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, enhance, and maintain StorNext Filesystem components and related tools.
• Lead investigations, debugging, and root-cause analysis across the suite.
• Drive code reviews, design discussions, validation planning, and engineering decisions.
• Provide mentorship and help establish best practices for systems-level development.
