Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Field Technical Program Manager for Forward Deployed Engineering to lead complex customer engagements, drive technical leadership, and ensure successful delivery across initiatives.

You will guide architectural choices, manage risks, and coordinate across engineering, product, and customer teams. You will communicate effectively with engineers and executives, maintain schedules and budgets, and escalate issues when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large, complex engagements and guiding architecture decisions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management across engineers and executives.
• Ability to identify risks and manage scope, schedule and budget.
• Experience with BI, data management, and big data technologies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the successful delivery of our most complex customer engagements by providing technical leadership.
• Guide technical teams through key architectural decisions and trade-offs.
• Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks and dependencies.
• Individually deliver high-quality deliverables, status reports, program plans, and customer responses.
• Manage all aspects of a program: scope, schedule, budget, risk, and resources.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for customers on technical delivery issues.
• Build trust with stakeholders by articulating Databricks’ vision and facilitating productive meetings.
