Job summary

SOCOTEC, Inc. seeks a Senior Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician/Inspector to join our team in Arizona.

You will perform field testing and inspections of soils, concrete, and asphalt on construction projects, documenting results and supporting quality control efforts. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in CMT/quality control, knowledge of standard test methods, strong communication and organizational skills, and relevant certifications (ACI Grade I, ATTI).

Qualifications

• 7+ years in construction materials testing, quality control inspection, or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of standard test methods for soils, concrete and asphalt.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently and with a team.
• Basic computer proficiency (MS Word and Excel).
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I certification.
• ATTI Field Certification.
• ADOT ATTA Traffic Control Supervisor training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials per standards and project requirements.
• Conduct quality control inspections on construction sites and document observations.
• Prepare accurate field reports, test results, and supporting project documentation.
• Maintain field and laboratory records; ensure data is complete and organized.
• Communicate test results and observations to project managers, contractors, and clients.
• Follow company safety procedures and industry standards while in the field.
• Assist with additional testing, inspection, and project-related duties as assigned.
