Job summary

SOCOTEC US is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician in Centennial, Colorado. The ideal candidate will perform field testing and inspection of construction materials such as soils, concrete, and asphalt. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $18–$23 per hour.

We are seeking a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform field testing and inspection of soils, concrete, and asphalt, document results, and support quality control efforts.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements.
• Conduct quality control inspections on construction sites and document observations.
• Prepare accurate field reports, test results, and supporting project documentation.
• Maintain field and laboratory records and ensure data is complete and organized.
• Communicate test results and observations to project managers, contractors, and clients.
• Follow company safety procedures and industry standards while working in the field.
• Assist with additional testing, inspection, and project‑related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction materials testing, quality control inspection, or a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of standard test methods for soils, concrete, and asphalt.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Certifications

• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I
• Radiation Safety Certification
• Additional ICC, WAQTC, NICET, or related construction inspection certifications are a plus.

Additional Information

Salary range: $18‑23 per hour.
