Job summary
Sunstate Equipment Co. is hiring a Field Mechanic III in Corpus Christi, TX. The role focuses on diagnosing and repairing diesel and heavy equipment in the field, with independent work in a customer-facing capacity.

Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of field experience as a diesel, heavy equipment, or construction equipment technician.
- 4+ years of field experience preferred.
- Ability to self diagnose, troubleshoot, prioritize, and complete repairs with minimal supervision.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, Tier 4, and aftertreatment systems.
- Experience servicing and repairing construction and heavy equipment, including earthmoving equipment, generators, rollers, and related rental equipment.
- Electrical, HVAC, and generator experience is a plus.
- Must provide your own professional tools, averaging $10,000+ in value.
- Basic computer skills for work orders and documentation.
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
- Participate in an every other week on-call rotation with incentive pay.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair equipment safely and to manufacturer specs.
- Self-manage workload and complete repairs with minimal supervision.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics and aftertreatment components.
- Service and repair construction and heavy equipment and related rental gear.
- Communicate with customers and branch teams to ensure quality service.
