Job summary
Form Energy is seeking a skilled Field Technician to commission and service its first commercial-scale battery deployments. You will work with engineers to install, commission, test, and troubleshoot electrical, controls, networking, and mechanical subsystems across fielded systems.
The ideal candidate has extensive field experience with high-powered equipment, strong knowledge of system integration, and a safety-first mindset.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of advanced technical field experience with high‑powered equipment.
- Expertise in complex systems integration and high‑voltage troubleshooting.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Proficiency with CAN/Modbus/Ethernet for deep system debugging.
- Strong safety mindset and experience in heavy construction environments.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Slack for documentation and asset mgmt.
Responsibilities
- Support installation, commissioning, operations, and maintenance of battery systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems to identify root causes.
- Perform software/firmware upgrades and network configuration.
- Execute commissioning and testing plans to evaluate performance.
- Support emergency response to minimize downtime at sites.
- Lead performance testing, collect data, and document results.
- Maintain tools, vehicles, equipment, and safe work sites.
- Travel to client/project sites up to 90%.
