Job summary

Knight Watch, Inc. is hiring an Experienced Service Technician in Novi, MI. You will troubleshoot, service, and support access control, video surveillance, and fire alarm systems across customer sites, ensuring reliable operation and high customer satisfaction.

The role blends hands-on field work with strong communication and problem‑solving in a fast‑growing team. The ideal candidate has NICET certification or fire alarm experience, plus hands‑on low‑voltage system expertise, and is comfortable

Qualifications

Hands-on experience servicing access control, video surveillance, fire alarm, and other low‑voltage systems.
Experience performing customer-facing service calls, troubleshooting, and clear communication.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical drawings, device layouts, and service documentation.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, mobile service tools, and ticketing systems to document work.
NICET certification or fire alarm experience, or a plan to build credentials.
Ability to safely perform field work, including lifting equipment, ladders, and varied site conditions.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, service, and support access control systems, video surveillance, fire alarm systems, and other integrated low‑voltage techs.
Diagnose system issues in the field, identify root causes, and apply effective solutions to reduce downtime.
Perform customer-facing service calls with professionalism and clear communication.
Read and interpret blueprints and system documentation to complete service work accurately.
Complete low-voltage field work in compliance with codes and Knight Watch standards.
Document service activity, materials, labor hours, findings, and ticket updates accurately.
Use mobile task reporting and project information to stay organized and communicate status.
Grow technical knowledge through product research, training, and certifications.
Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams to ensure a smooth service experience.
