Job summary

Kodiak Gas Services seeks a fully proficient Field Technician in Carlsbad, NM for onsite compressor packages, gas processes, and rental operations. You will troubleshoot complex repairs, support maintenance planning, and mentor junior staff, ensuring equipment runs safely and reliably.

Ideal candidates have extensive experience with gas processing and compressor systems, hold SSE and certifications, and are prepared for demanding field work and 24/7 coverage in a remote location.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• SSE program completion plus 3+ years in an intermediate Field Technician role.
• Deep knowledge in gas processes and compressor mechanics.
• 5+ years of compression process and equipment experience.
• Advanced electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Knowledge of compressor packages and HSE procedures.

Responsibilities

• Directs, coordinates, and performs job activities per Kodiak procedures; acts as a mentor and lead.
• Troubleshoot complex repairs and major equipment overhauls and operation.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues.
• Participate in all HSE activities; maintain safety as a priority.
• Cultivate and maintain customer relationships.
• Maintain 98%+ mechanical availability of equipment.
• Provide input for area budgeting and planning.
• Communicate with Supply Chain for parts planning.
• Maintain assigned units in clean, presentable condition.
• Provide 24/7 coverage and on-call rotations.
