Job summary

The Nevada Department of Transportation seeks an Engineering Technician 4 in Las Vegas, within the Construction Division on crew 915. The incumbent will perform field inspections, testing, and surveying, and complete field and office work to document contractor's work for prompt payment.

This on-site role requires a strong foundation in engineering principles, drafting, and data analysis, with experience in field measurements and surveying equipment, coordinating with engineers and contractors.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in engineering or related field with two years of relevant experience.
• Or high school diploma with three years of progressively responsible engineering experience.
• Experience as Engineering Technician III in Nevada State service or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in field and laboratory tests and data collection for documentation.
• Perform surveying work, staking alignments, locations, and right-of-way boundaries.
• Prepare maps, drawings, and technical reports using CAD software and field notes.
• Review plans and specifications to ensure compliance with policies and standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, department staff, and the public as needed.
