Job summary

MasTec, Inc. is seeking a Survey Technician to obtain and compute data essential for measuring the Earth’s features and understanding construction layouts.

You will conduct topographic analysis and capture static measurements using GNSS and surveying equipment, while ensuring accuracy and safety on site. You will collaborate with project teams, apply precise field methods, maintain gear, and contribute to data integration into project plans.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in surveying, remote sensing, drafting, engineering, or related technical field preferred.
• One year of survey experience in construction or operations with exposure to engineering, civil, or renewable energy activities.

Responsibilities

• Collect field data using surveying equipment.
• Collaborate with project team to understand construction sequence.
• Apply GPS to set lath for construction and center/offsets.
• Operate survey instruments to capture static measurements with client benchmarks.
• Calculate elevations, distances and angles for projects.
• Record survey measurements and descriptive data.
• Verify horizontal and vertical residuals daily with benchmarks.
• Maintain and troubleshoot GPS equipment.
