Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Survey Party Chief to lead field survey work in the Land Surveying and Geospatial Team. The role involves mentoring Jr Party Chiefs and Instrument Operators, coordinating with office staff, and delivering accurate data for a variety of Northeast projects.

Projects span commercial, transportation, environmental, industrial, and energy sectors; travel within the Northeast is common with potential assignments outside the region.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; higher education preferred
• 7+ years of land surveying/geospatial experience
• Advanced knowledge of survey equipment, practices, and procedures
• Willingness to mentor Jr Party Chiefs and Instrument Operators
• Valid driver’s license; completion of background screening
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; detail oriented
• Ability to work independently or in a team; flexible schedules
• Physical ability to walk long distances and carry equipment up to 50 pounds
• Uphold safety policies and professional conduct

Responsibilities

• Lead survey field work in a senior role, mentoring Jr Party Chiefs and Instrument Operators
• Interact with office staff and management daily
• Work on diverse projects across commercial, transportation, environmental, industrial, institutional and energy sectors
• Travel within the Northeast region; occasional work outside Northeast; travel may be required
• Use various survey instruments and prepare clear field notes and sketches
• Download field data and provide reports and summaries as needed
• Represent WSP in a positive, professional manner with clients and the public
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
