Job summary

McAdams is seeking a Crew Chief II to lead complex field survey projects in the Charlotte area. You will oversee field operations, ensure tasks align with project requirements, and act as a primary field representative for clients and stakeholders.

The role requires advanced technical knowledge, independent decision-making, and strong leadership. You will mentor junior crew members and promote safety, efficiency, and high-quality data collection across projects.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Demonstrate core competencies of Crew Chief I.
• Knowledge of surveying software and hardware including TDS, Trimble, GPS, Carlson, Leica.
• Must be punctual, dependable and detail-oriented.
• Successful completion of a functional assessment and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily field operations and ensure survey tasks are executed accurately and safely.
• Read and apply complex construction plans for layout and data collection.
• Provide technical guidance to Geomatics team members and mentor junior crew chiefs.
• Maintain and manage survey equipment and vehicles; coordinate calibrations as needed.
• Communicate with clients and project stakeholders to uphold McAdams's standards and professional image.
