Job summary

MJ Hughes Construction is a Heavy Civil General Contractor specializing in structural concrete. The Construction Superintendent will lead the on-site team, oversee all field activities per project plans, and coordinate with Project Managers and Engineers to deliver projects on time and on budget.

Travel to field locations is required; a proactive, safety-minded leader is essential. The role demands experience with DOT/USACE projects and a capability to manage schedules, budgets, and quality

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience as a construction superintendent.
• Proficient with MS Office Word and Excel.
• Ability to lift 60 pounds and operate heavy equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, survey stakes.
• Able to communicate effectively with craftworkers, management and clients.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Experience with DOT, USACE, DOR and other Government entities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the on-site construction team.
• Coordinate all work on site and attend production meetings.
• Review schedule and budget and ensure adherence.
• Ensure quality standards and safety compliance on site.
• Place material orders and manage equipment and site logistics.
• Maintain site records (daily reports, RFIs).
• Create and execute look-ahead schedules.
• Coach crews and enforce safe practices.
