Carlson-Bros.-Inc. in Springfield, IL is seeking a Field Superintendent to lead on-site construction across commercial, public works, and multifamily projects. You will manage field teams, subcontractors, safety, schedule, and quality from mobilization to closeout.

This full-time role offers a strong base salary ($110,000–$130,000) with a performance-based bonus, 401(k) with company match, health benefits, PTO, a company vehicle or allowance, and a technology package.

Qualifications

• 7–15+ years of commercial construction field experience; proven experience as a Superintendent or lead field role; experience in commercial, municipal, public safety, or multifamily construction; strong understanding of construction sequencing, coordination, and site logistics; ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Experience with fire & rescue facilities, civic buildings, and multi-family projects is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site construction activities from mobilization through closeout, keeping the jobsite organized, efficient, and well planned.
• Coordinate subcontractors, manage short-term schedules, and maintain steady progress toward project milestones.
• Identify and address issues early, whether related to coordination, sequencing, or site logistics, and keep work moving without unnecessary disruption.
• Enforce jobsite safety requirements, lead regular safety meetings, and maintain a clean, compliant work environment.
• Monitor work as it's installed, coordinate inspections, and ensure the finished product meets plans and specifications.
• Communicate clearly with the Project Management team, inspectors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to keep the project on track.
