Job summary

ABB is seeking a skilled Field Service professional to execute service work at customer sites, including installation, commissioning, maintenance, and upgrades. The role supports certified technicians and requires strong communication and project-management skills.

You will identify opportunities for improvements while maintaining safety standards. The position offers a remote work model with on-site responsibilities in Cedar Knolls, NJ, and opportunities to grow within ABB’s Power Protection

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to interact across organizational levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to manage projects using MS Project or Excel.
• Ability to write test plans and reports detailing results.

Responsibilities

• Perform field service tasks, including identifying issues and on-site troubleshooting.
• Execute installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, retrofits, and end-of-life services.
• Prepare material lists and ensure quality compliance; deliver safe, scheduled service work.
• Coach and supervise technicians; identify sales opportunities; maintain customer relationships.
• Follow safety protocols and report unsafe practices.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology

Associates Degree in electrical technology

High School Diploma / GED with military or equivalent experience
