Job summary

AVI-SPL is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician to partner with the Global Helpdesk to restore functionality at customer sites and deliver a world-class service experience. You'll read schematics, perform preventive maintenance, and support AMX/Crestron control programs with some networked device work.

Travel to customer sites is required. A 3–5 year audiovisual integration background and a high school diploma are preferred; training and development opportunities are available to grow with

Qualifications

• Effective communication with customers and colleagues is essential.
• Hands-on ability with hand and power tools for installations and maintenance.
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Basic computer knowledge for diagnostics and reporting.
• Knowledge of audio, video and control signal flow.
• Able to manage small to medium projects.
• Soldering & crimping connectors as needed.
• Minor AMX/Crestron programming and troubleshooting.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable DMV record.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret schematics and architectural blueprints.
• Perform preventive maintenance visits to maintain a stable client base.
• Install and service AMX/Crestron control programs; upload/download capabilities.
• Provide field service support for networked devices and basic programming edits.
• Travel to customer sites to deliver timely, quality service.
• Document work accurately and assist next level technicians as needed.
• Train clients when required and adhere to OSHA standards.

What You’ll Do

The AVI-SPL Senior Field Service Technician will work in partnership with the Global Helpdesk to provide Service support for customers at customer sites with the end goals of restoring functionality to our customers’ assets while delivering a world-class Customer Service experience.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
• Perform preventative maintenance visits to help maintain a stable client base
• Clean various AV equipment including but not limited to: camera lenses, monitors and equipment fans, as a part of Preventative Maintenance
• Take Responsibly for completing accurate job documentation as needed
• Ensure equipment delivery and associated responsibilities for assigned assignments
• Field installation of control programs (AMX / Crestron/Firmware) – upload and download capability
• Field service support of control programs (AMX / Crestron/etc.) – minor edits (could be with the aid of a programmer), compile, upload and download capability
• Intermediate Field service support of networked devices (Routers, IP Protocols, etc.)
• Perform service tasks in a timely and quality conscious manner including but not limited to: pulling cable, installing connectors, mounting projects and hanging ceiling mounts
• Assist next level service technicians as needed
• Provide client training as needed
• Adhere to and understand OSHA standards for all phases of the job
• Setup and troubleshoot various video codecs and UCC devices
• Travel to various job sites required
• Perform additional tasks, responsibilities, and projects as needed to support the team and organization, ensuring flexibility in adapting to evolving priorities and objectives

• This position will generally work on customer sites and may deal with a construction site type of work environment.

Nice-to-Haves

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years of audiovisual integration experience preferred
• Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred
• Familiarity with:

  • Crestron Professional installation, programming and configuration
  • Exton Intermediate Knowledge oAVIXA CTS General Certification
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Course
