Job summary

Onterris is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician in Portland, ME to drive field implementation of water and vapor treatment technologies. You’ll work with Project Managers, review project scope and safety, and apply environmental engineering principles in field settings.

The role emphasizes hands-on operation, field monitoring, data collection, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver compliant, high-quality results.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, environmental collection, monitoring, sampling, testing and basic evaluation.
• Must possess a valid Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• NFPA70E Training or willingness to complete.
• Ability/willingness to travel up to 75%.
• HAZWOPER certification with the 40 hour HAZWOPER class and annual 8-hour refresher.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
• Be able to deliver and receive electronic documents.
• Ability to interface with cross‑functional teams.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Solid organization and time/project management skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, legible handwriting.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Leads and independently performs complex field engineering and technical activities, including equipment inspections and startup support.
• Coordinates with clients, contractors, vendors, and project teams to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety.
• Performs O&M of environmental treatment equipment including pumps, filters, tanks and other units.
• Supports fabrication activities and bench/pilot equipment setup.
• Records data and prepares field reports and data sheets.
