Job summary

USA Compression Partners, LP is seeking a Lead Service Technician to maintain and service compression equipment with minimal supervision. You will develop Field Service Technicians, handle complex troubleshooting, and ensure contractually required run times while maintaining strong customer relationships.

The role requires 7+ years in gas compression, CAT/Ariel/Cummins experience, and certifications; travel up to 90% and extended hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Technical or trade cert or college degree required.
• 7+ years gas compression experience with CAT/Ariel/Cummins preferred.
• CAT Gas Engine II, Troubleshooting, Electronics certs; CAT 3500/3600; ADEM 3/4; Ariel 1/2; Murphy panel a plus.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable MVR history.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to self-manage with minimal supervision; management experience a plus.
• Mechanical acumen across electrical and gas compression systems.
• Ability to train and mentor Field Service Technicians.

Responsibilities

• Involved in start-ups, major maintenance, failures, overhauls, and diagnostics.
• Lead and mentor Field Service Technicians; develop their skills.
• Ensure run time of natural gas compression units per contracts.
• Respond quickly to customer inquiries; communicate with ASM.
• Partner with ASM to ensure smooth Area operations.
• Safely operate company vehicle according to guidelines.
• Identify new service opportunities with the sales team.
• Coordinate parts inventory with the parts department using WMS.
• Keep Area units clean and maintain safe working conditions.
• Assist in recruiting and developing Field Service Technicians.
• Assist in supervisory duties if ASM is absent.
• Follow company handbook and safety/environmental policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work 14 days on/off; travel up to 90%.
